"Then fall, Caesar"

THIS BOTHERS ME SO MUCH.

So we're reading Julius Caesar by Shakespeare in school, and when the Senators stab Caesar, oh my gosh I hate his reply. I mean, sure, "Et tu, Brute," but right after that, "Then fall Caesar"??? It makes no freaking sense that Caesar would say that. Okay, in the play, a lot of people talk in third person, but come on. Imagine being stabbed by your friends, what are your last words? Surely not "Then fall [whatever your name is]. That's just... dumb. Wouldn't the "Et tu Brute" thing suffice???

Wow I hate this.


Okay I had to rant. =)
